Antiparos and the movie Suntan nominated for the best European location in Cinema

Antiparos island and the movie Suntan has been nominated for the award for the best European location in Cinema and TV industries by Filming Europe, the Association of European Film Commissions.

This is a new award and is part of the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Association and aims at celebrating the diversity and multifaceted nature of European locations.

During the first phase, each Filming Europe member candidated one location from its Country and a jury of experts selected by Cineuropa, nominated the final shortlist.

Now in this second phase the audience has the chance the vote the best location among the 11 in shortlist, by simply filling the online form. You have time from 11 September to 25 October.

Among all voters, Filming Europe and Cineuropa will draw a winner who will have the chance to visit the winning location. The winner will benefit on 2 nights accommodation for 2 people, which will be offered and used in agreement with the film commission of that area.

How to vote for Antiparos

  2. Enter your email address in the field available at the very end of the location profile.
  3. After submitting the form, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
  4. Your vote will be validated by clicking on the link included in the email.
  5. If not validated within 24 hours, your vote will be erased.
  6. If you’ll not receive the confirmation email within a few minutes, please double check the submitted email address and/or your mailbox spam folder and settings.
  7. In case of any further problem, please contact locationaward@cineuropa.org.
  8. Only one vote per email address will be accepted. If voting more than once, only the last vote will be counted.

Nestled in the blue waters of the archipelago, the Antiparos island, a small island of Cyclades, has been employed magnificently in the film Suntan (by Argyris Papadimitropoulos, 2016) as it conveys all the heat of the Greek summer made up of white hot sandy beaches perfect for seeing the red lights of sunset; but also wild breath-taking panoramas amazing for young explorers ready to leave for the next adventure.
